Reconciling partner settlements with application event totals
Partner invoices and product dashboards diverge for ordinary reasons. Document the cut lines before the argument starts.
Partner settlements often exclude refunds, trial conversions, or events from restricted regions. Application analytics pipelines usually include them until someone remembers the contract. The reconciliation work is less about precision math and more about writing the cut lines in one place both sides accept.
Begin with the settlement clause, not the dashboard. Map each excluded class to an event property or a post-filter. Then run the same window through the pipeline with those filters applied. Residual gaps after that exercise are the true pipeline defects.
